Suseong University in Daegu has signed a lifelong vocational education governance agreement with Glam Beauty and Suseong-gu to develop talent for the local beauty industry, the university announced Wednesday.

As part of the partnership, the three parties will jointly operate an SMP and semi-permanent makeup practical training course.

The program is open to Suseong University students and local residents. Glam Beauty will provide hands-on instruction in the latest semi-permanent procedures — including scalp micropigmentation, hairline work, eyebrow, eyeliner and lip treatments — as well as training in customer consultation, marketing and brand management.

Through the collaboration, Suseong-gu aims to leverage the district's human and cultural resources to invigorate the local K-beauty industry ecosystem.

Kang Seong-su, head of Suseong University's industry-academic cooperation foundation, said he hopes the initiative "will make a tangible contribution to nurturing talent and advancing the region by providing residents with high-quality educational opportunities."

The SMP and semi-permanent makeup course is free of charge and open to Suseong University students and local residents with an interest in beauty practice, including career-interrupted individuals, working professionals, those seeking a career change and adult learners.

The program runs every Thursday from Oct. 29 through Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., for a total of five sessions and 30 hours of instruction.
