Hong Eui-rak, president of Korea Gas Corporation, disclosed assets totaling 3.26 billion won ($2.46 million) in his first mandatory property filing since taking office in July.

According to the Government Ethics Committee's official gazette release Thursday, Hong reported combined assets of 3.26 billion won held under his own name and that of his spouse.

The holdings include real estate valued at 2.19 billion won — comprising an apartment in Munjeong-dong, Seoul, worth 2.18 billion won and a lease right on a building in Beomeo-dong, Daegu, worth 10 million won — along with deposits of 512.89 million won and land valued at 502.56 million won.

Hong declined to disclose the assets of his mother and eldest son, citing their financial independence.

Hong previously served as a lawmaker in the 19th and 20th National Assemblies and as deputy mayor for economic affairs of Daegu before taking office as the 19th president of Korea Gas Corporation on July 29.

The holdings include an apartment in Eungam-dong, Seoul, valued at 1.4 billion won, securities including shares and bonds worth 440.4 million won, deposits of 216.01 million won and gold valued at 8.15 million won.

Han Gyeong-nam, standing auditor of Korea Electric Power Data Network, disclosed assets of 2.06 billion won and said he had requested a review of whether shares worth 480 million won were related to his official duties.
