Robot service company Clobot showcases humanoid robots
Machines dance, wear matching uniforms and mingle with guests
CEO vows to keep expanding business models
A special guest stole the spotlight at this year's SME Leaders Forum, where more than 400 heads of small and medium-sized enterprises gathered. Intelligent robot service company Clobot brought its humanoid robots to the event, and the machines — dressed in matching uniforms — drew the crowd's attention as they moved through the venue with a remarkably human-like gait.
On Tuesday, Clobot deployed the humanoid robots during the opening ceremony and key programs, staging greeting performances and running a photo zone and hands-on experience area where attendees could interact with the machines directly. A highlight was a synchronized performance in which two humanoid robots moved in time to music, offering a vivid demonstration of the robots' motion and control technology.
Clobot develops and operates robots from various manufacturers using its proprietary universal autonomous driving solution CHAMELEON and its heterogeneous robot integrated management platform CROMS, tailoring deployments to each customer's environment. The company listed on Kosdaq in October 2024 and posted sales of about 41.4 billion won ($31.2 million) and an operating loss of 3.2 billion won last year.
Beyond robot supply, the company also runs a robot solutions business covering site-specific service planning, system integration, and ongoing operation and maintenance. Clobot said it is expanding further into physical AI and humanoid robot fields.
Clobot participates in the K-Humanoid Alliance led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Last year, the company formed a consortium with Oh Hye-jin, a professor in the robotics department at Carnegie Mellon University, and Sungkyunkwan University, and was selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT's Top-tier AI Overseas Talent Support project. Through the initiative, Clobot is taking part in a 5 billion won research project to develop a multimodal humanoid foundation AI model.
The company is also working to strengthen its capacity to deploy humanoid robots in real-world settings. It plans to expand its presence through humanoid performances at public institution and local government events, while leveraging its existing mobile robot software and field operations experience to build site-specific solutions that enable humanoid robots to carry out a range of tasks in actual industrial environments.
"This event was an opportunity for people to experience firsthand the potential of future robot technology through humanoid robots," said Kim Chang-gu, CEO of Clobot. "We will continue to expand the solutions and business models that allow humanoid robots to be used in real industrial settings, by combining the robot integration and field operations capabilities we have built up with physical AI technology."
