The Yeongyang-gun Council in North Gyeongsang Province closed its 316th extraordinary session Tuesday after a nine-day sitting.

During the session, the council reviewed and voted on 15 agenda items, including ordinance bills, alongside a round of questions on county administration.

Of particular note was the adoption of a resolution, introduced by Lawmaker Lee Won-gi, urging the government to designate chili peppers as a covered item under the agricultural price stabilization program and to establish price-support measures at the national level.

Members also visited 11 major project sites in the county to assess progress and identify problems. Lawmaker Shin Seung-bae questioned county officials on ways to boost residents' income through renewable energy projects and on improving the participatory budgeting system.

Council Speaker Hong Jeom-pyo said the session "addressed residents' questions and offered alternatives for the proper advancement of various projects," adding that the council would "take the lead in driving the development of Yeongyang-gun."
