The Korea Federation of Industries' Entrepreneurship Lab will host the fourth edition of its "Entrepreneurship Lab TALK Live" at the FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul, on Oct. 29, the federation announced Wednesday.

Kim Jae-hyuk, CEO of Retinal, and Jung Yong-chul, CEO of Draftify, will speak at the event.

Kim, a Hanyang University industrial engineering graduate, founded Retinal in 2016 after drawing inspiration from comics he enjoyed as a student, entering the augmented reality optical components business. In May, he secured 27.8 billion won ($20.9 million) in pre-IPO investment, pushing the company's cumulative funding past 62.5 billion won.

Jung holds a doctorate in life sciences from KAIST and previously served as head of data analytics and then director at New York Excelsior, a US esports organization. A lifelong gaming enthusiast, he went on to develop PlaySquad, a platform connecting game creators with fans.

The KFI's Entrepreneurship Lab organized the event to share stories of young founders who found business opportunities in their personal passions — such as comics and gaming — and to convey the idea that everyday interests and experiences can be the starting point for entrepreneurship and innovation.

The talk runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 29, with 120 university students attending in person. Anyone can watch the live stream through the KFI's YouTube channel, "Kkeujeok."

Jung Cheol, head of the KFI Entrepreneurship Lab, said the event was designed "to convey the spirit of entrepreneurship through the stories of young founders who turned what they love into new opportunities." He added that he hopes young people "will discover new possibilities in the things they enjoy, boldly try even small ideas, and build up the experience of taking on challenges."
