Guro-gu will hold the "2026 Long-Term Care Facility Workers Eoulim Hanmadang," an appreciation event for workers at long-term care facilities serving elderly residents, on Saturday at the auditorium on the fifth floor of the district office's main building.

The event was organized to recognize the dedication of frontline care workers who support the daily lives of elderly residents and to provide an opportunity for connection and camaraderie. Now in its second year following last year's inaugural gathering, it is expected to draw about 300 workers from long-term care facilities across the district.

The program begins at 1:30 p.m. with a performance by trot music singer Kim Se-jun, followed by a screening of a promotional video on raising public awareness of care workers, a commendation ceremony for outstanding workers, commemorative remarks, congratulatory speeches and a group photo.

A highlight of the event is the commendation of 45 outstanding workers who have dedicated themselves to elderly care. Of those, 40 will receive commendations from Guro-gu District Mayor Jang In-hong and five from the chairman of the Korea Home-Visit Long-Term Care Association, in recognition of their quiet dedication on the front lines.

A promotional video produced by the National Health Insurance Service will also be screened to highlight the role and importance of care workers and to promote greater social awareness and respect for those in the profession.

"It is thanks to the care workers on the front lines that elderly residents are able to continue living healthy, comfortable lives in familiar surroundings," Guro-gu District Mayor Jang In-hong said. "We will continue working to honor the value of care and to create an environment where workers can take pride in what they do."
