Namyangju city is producing a series of video content featuring its promotional ambassador "Burger Hyung" — actor and singer Park Hyo-jun — to boost awareness of local commercial districts by pairing performances of his new song with visits to neighborhood businesses.

The project has Park visiting stores across the city to perform his new track while cameras capture each shop's distinctive character and atmosphere, with the aim of showcasing the appeal of Namyangju's local business scene.

Filming takes place over four days: Monday and Wednesday this week, and Nov. 12 and Nov. 13. Park is scheduled to visit more than 70 stores across major commercial districts including Byeollae, Jinjeop, Toegyewon, Geumgok, Pyeongnae, Hopyeong, Dasan, Wabu and Hwado, covering a range of businesses from restaurants and cafes to hagwon.

The footage will also capture store owners and visitors reacting to the performances, conveying the lively atmosphere of the local business community. Videos will be released in sequence on Burger Hyung's YouTube channel and on the city's official commercial district Instagram account, "Namyangju-si Yeogi Gage."

The city said it hopes the content will raise public interest in local stores and encourage residents to visit and patronize them more actively.

"We want to bring together Burger Hyung's music and the stories of local businesses to convey the charm of our commercial districts in a warm and approachable way," said Park Mi-gyeong, head of the local economy division. "We hope this promotional effort leads to more residents visiting and using local stores."
