Five Busan game companies seek entry into Thai market; Korea-Thailand market exploration mission runs Oct. 28–31 in Bangkok
Five Busan-based game companies are heading to Bangkok to meet local developers and attend a major industry event as they look to break into the Southeast Asian market and find new business partners.
The city of Busan and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency announced Tuesday they will run a Korea-Thailand Market Exploration Mission in Bangkok from Oct. 28 to Oct. 31 to help local game companies expand their global business.
The mission is part of the "2026 Global New Market Entry Business" project, supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Creative Content Agency, the city of Busan and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency. The five participating companies are BND Angle, Urban Wolf Games, C-Play, Visual Dart and Zombie Mate.
On Oct. 28, the companies will visit Thai game firms PlayPark and Gravity Thailand to observe local game publishing operations and discuss retail and marketing strategies suited to the Southeast Asian market. On Oct. 29 and 30, they will take part in the B2B exhibition hall of Gamescom Asia×Thailand Game Show at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, where they will pitch their games to local and global publishers, investors and platform companies, and explore publishing deals, investment opportunities and joint projects.
Gamescom Asia×Thailand Game Show is a gaming event for industry professionals and players across Asia. When it was held in Bangkok for the first time last year, it drew 206,000 visitors and 5,590 industry professionals, with 294 companies and joint pavilions taking part as exhibitors.
Meanwhile, the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency has been expanding its overseas support reach to Southeast Asia, following earlier market exploration efforts in Eastern Europe and the Balkans this year. The local networks built through this mission are expected to be used to attract overseas industry figures to Busan's flagship gaming events, including G-Star and the Busan Indie Connect Festival.
