Lotte Department Store announced Tuesday that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans at the Seoul Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to promote patriotic culture in everyday life.

Under the agreement, Lotte will produce, identify and support content related to patriotic culture, and plans to organize customer participation campaigns to further that mission.

The retailer has a track record of patriotic initiatives, including hosting a "Love for the Nation" charity bazaar, organizing benefit concerts for independence movement heroes, holding a design competition centered on independence activist Ahn Jung-geun, and sponsoring the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Foundation.

This year, Lotte has also expanded its support for soldiers injured during military service, aiming to aid their emotional recovery and raise public awareness of their needs. Since March, the company has provided rehearsal space to an orchestra made up of wounded service members.

"Through this agreement, we will spread patriotic culture in everyday life via various campaigns at Lotte Department Store and support efforts to reflect on the meaning of patriotism in our daily lives," said Jeong Hyeon-seok, chief executive of Lotte Department Store.
