Trinity Airways announced Tuesday that it had conducted a bonding travel program called "From Detection Dog to Companion Dog" in partnership with Sonopet and the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, aimed at connecting retired quarantine detection dogs with adoptive families.

The overnight event, held Saturday and Sunday at Sonopet Club & Resort Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, drew about 20 participants — prospective and confirmed adoptive families selected through a recruitment process that began in May.

The program was designed to help retired detection dogs, which dedicated their lives to national quarantine work, transition into new lives with caring households, while giving prospective adopters ample opportunity to bond with the animals and promoting a responsible pet adoption culture. The event also carried added significance as a public-private collaboration between a government agency and Sono Trinity Group in pursuit of shared social values.

Over the two days, participants took part in a range of activities: an introduction to the detection dogs' roles and the adoption system, individual rotation bonding sessions, trainer-led bonding exercises along with walking and massage instruction provided by Sonopet's professional trainers, a sports day and treasure hunt with the dogs, and one-on-one evening bonding walks.

In addition, Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency staff were on site to offer one-on-one adoption consultations and guidance on follow-up procedures, helping participants make well-considered decisions about adoption.

"We are delighted that this bonding trip has helped retired quarantine detection dogs take their first steps into a warm second chapter of life with new families," a Trinity Airways official said. "We will continue to expand our CSR activities to realize social value and spread a positive influence."

Meanwhile, Trinity Airways has been carrying out a range of social contribution activities as part of its corporate social responsibility commitments. Earlier, employees belonging to the in-house volunteer club Sheim visited the Magok Senior Welfare Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on Oct. 12 to serve lunch to elderly residents in the community.
