Third-highest application volume among Seoul's autonomous districts — four dedicated staff process permits in an average of eight days, well under the 15-day legal limit; KakaoTalk alerts replace slow postal notices to prevent contract delays
Gangdong-gu announced Tuesday that it has reinforced staffing to handle the surge in workload following the designation of land transaction permit zones, and is now processing permit applications within an average of eight days.
The district added two staff members immediately after Seoul designated apartment land transaction permit zones on Oct. 15, 2025, bringing the total number of dedicated personnel to four.
Although Gangdong-gu ranks third among Seoul's autonomous districts in application volume, the staffing boost and integrated workflow have allowed it to process permits well ahead of the 15-day statutory deadline, easing inconvenience for residents.
The assigned staff handle the full cycle of land transaction permit work — from reviewing applications to conducting post-sale land-use inspections and carrying out detailed real estate transaction reporting probes after contracts are signed.
By linking each stage of the transaction process within the same team, the district has improved administrative continuity and efficiency while helping residents move through real estate transactions on schedule.
The district also operates a KakaoTalk messaging alert service to notify applicants of permit decisions promptly. Previously, postal notices took two to three days to arrive, causing contract delays and complaints. The messaging alerts deliver results immediately, improving convenience for applicants and preventing disputes stemming from delayed contracts.
"We reinforced our staffing right after the land transaction permit zone was designated so we could respond quickly to the increased volume of applications," District Mayor Lee Su-hee said. "We will continue to examine our processing systems closely, do our utmost to reduce inconvenience for residents, and provide fast and accurate administrative services."
