Dalseong-gun in Daegu held the 2nd Dalseong-gun·MBN National Park Golf Tournament from Saturday to Monday at Dasa Secheon Park Golf Course, drawing 820 park golf enthusiasts from all 17 cities and provinces across the country, the district announced Tuesday.

The Dalseong-gun Sports Council, MBN and the Dalseong-gun Park Golf Association co-hosted and organized the event, with support from Dalseong-gun, the Daegu Metropolitan City Park Golf Association and the Korea Park Golf Association.

The opening ceremony on Saturday was attended by Assembly member Lee Jin-suk, Dalseong-gun County Chief Choi Jae-hun, Dalseong-gun Council Speaker Gwak Dong-hwan and Dalseong-gun Sports Council Chairman Kim Seong-je.

The tournament was divided into three categories — open, family and local — with 100 referees and operations staff deployed on-site to ensure fair and smooth competition.

A total of 30 million won ($22,300) in prize money was on offer, along with hotel stay vouchers at Azalea Hotel and special hole-in-one prizes, adding to the excitement among participants.

The host venue, Dasa Secheon Park Golf Course, is a 36-hole regulation course that received its 40th official certification from the Korea Park Golf Association in October 2024, and is noted for its scenic natural surroundings and well-maintained facilities.

"I hope this became a meaningful festival where park golf enthusiasts from across the country gathered in Dalseong on a cool autumn day to share friendship and camaraderie," Dalseong-gun County Chief Choi said. "We will do our best to continuously expand infrastructure and improve conditions so that park golf can flourish further as a lifestyle sport enjoyed by people of all ages."
