"Phrases carrying warmth and love welcome"
Submissions open through Oct. 28; up to 3 entries per person
Open to all, regardless of age or place of residence
The Seoul Metropolitan Government is accepting submissions for its 2026 winter edition of the Seoul Dream Inscription Board through Oct. 28, it announced Saturday. The theme is phrases carrying warmth and love to melt the cold of winter.
The Seoul Dream Inscription Board is a large display installed on the front exterior wall of Seoul Library since 2013 to deliver messages of comfort and hope to citizens.
Anyone may enter regardless of age or place of residence, submitting original phrases of up to 30 hangul characters, with a maximum of three entries per person. Each entry must be submitted separately. Applications are accepted online through the Seoul Metropolitan Government website or by mail, with mailed entries accepted until 6 p.m. on Oct. 28.
A selection committee made up of internal and external members will choose five finalists, each of whom will receive a prize of 400,000 won ($298). Results will be announced Nov. 13. The selected phrases will undergo a separate design process before being posted on the winter edition of the board at the end of next month.
"We hope to receive many fresh phrases that let people feel small moments of warmth and love in their daily lives, even through the cold winter," said Kang Seon-mi, the Seoul Metropolitan Government's public relations officer.
