Registration open Monday through Friday

Guri is recruiting participants for its "2026 AI Convergence Maker Education Advanced Course," with registration open Monday through Friday.

The program is open to residents aged 18 or older who are registered in Guri and have completed at least 10 hours of AI-related education. A total of 24 participants will be accepted.

The AI Convergence Maker Education program is run in partnership with the "Dream Workshop" at Inchang Library. Moving beyond conventional lecture-based instruction, the course centers on hands-on, integrated learning that combines AI and the Internet of Things (IoT). The city plans to support participants in applying the skills they learn not only in daily life and the workplace but also in community activities.

The curriculum covers the future of physical AI and convergence technology in the real world; basic AI object recognition using YOLO 11; physical computing systems built with MicroPython; understanding functions and logical structures with hands-on sensor work; IoT connectivity through networks; data communication via Wi-Fi; AI that interacts with hardware; and the implementation of AIoT devices using AI.

The advanced course places particular emphasis on hands-on projects that link AI with hardware to produce working outputs. It is designed to help participants go beyond understanding technology and develop the ability to turn creative ideas into tangible results.

"Through this program, I hope residents will grow into makers who use AIoT technology to build creative projects of their own," Guri Mayor Shin Dong-hwa said. "We will continue to create diverse learning opportunities so that residents' creative ideas can drive change and progress in our community."

Applications can be submitted through the Guri Lifelong Learning Portal. For more information, contact the Lifelong Learning Division at Guri City Hall.
