Mayor Kim Sung-je: Panel's input to be 'faithfully reflected' in campaign pledge plans
Uiwang is accepting applications for 35 members of a citizen policy panel to review the city's ninth-term elected administration campaign pledges and strengthen its four-year implementation plan.
Applicants must be registered residents of Uiwang aged 18 or older and must be able to attend all three pledge evaluation sessions, scheduled for Nov. 6, Nov. 12 and Nov. 16.
The panel will be divided into five subcommittees to assess the appropriateness of each pledge's goals and implementation plans, the feasibility of financing, and how tangible the benefits would be for residents. The city plans to incorporate the panel's feedback directly into its ninth-term campaign pledge implementation plan.
Applications are open until 6 p.m. Oct. 26. Residents can apply in person at the Planning and Budget Division on the second floor of Uiwang City Hall (11 Sikcheong-ro), or submit their applications by email or through a Naver form.
Members will be selected by random computerized lottery, with gender, regional and age-group balance taken into account. Results will be announced Oct. 30.
Full details on the recruitment are available on the Uiwang city government website under the public notices section.
"Campaign pledges are promises made to residents, so it is important to listen to their views and carefully examine what is achievable," Mayor Kim Sung-je said. "We will faithfully reflect the citizen panel's input in our pledge implementation plan and pursue policies that residents can truly feel."
