Operating profit up 99% on-year
Sales reach 986.5 billion won, up 52%
Gaon Cable announced Monday that it posted sales of 986.5 billion won ($735 million) and an operating profit of 52 billion won in the third quarter on a consolidated basis, marking the company's best quarterly earnings on record.
Sales rose 51.9 percent and operating profit surged 99.1 percent compared with the same period last year. Both figures also improved from the previous quarter, up 13.5 percent and 43.9 percent, respectively.
On a nine-month cumulative basis, the company recorded sales of 2.62 trillion won and an operating profit of 116 billion won — already surpassing its full-year 2025 results of 2.55 trillion won in sales and 79.2 billion won in operating profit.
Its US manufacturing subsidiary LSCUS continues to expand. Working with LS Cable & System, LSCUS has established itself as a top-five global busduct supplier by providing busducts to AI data centers operated by major US technology companies.
The strong results were driven by rising demand for cables and busducts amid growing investment in AI data centers, renewable energy and power grid infrastructure in the United States. To meet that demand, Gaon Cable has been securing a string of orders, primarily in North America.
"The US power infrastructure market is seeing structural growth, centered on AI data center and grid investment," a company official said. "We will sustain our record-breaking earnings momentum and continue improving profitability, backed by expanded exports from our headquarters and the growth of LSCUS."
