The SBS drama "Odds in Our Favor," in which Ha Young was set to co-star with Lee Je-hoon, has been dropped from the network's first-half 2027 broadcast lineup amid controversy over her great-grandfather's collaboration with Japanese colonial authorities.
SBS recently removed "Odds in Our Favor" from its first-half scheduling lineup, according to OSEN.
The network is still weighing its options, but no broadcast date — including a potential second-half slot — has been confirmed. The scheduling shift has drawn attention given that filming on the series has already wrapped.
"Odds in Our Favor" is a remake of a Japanese TV Asahi drama series and is a comic legal-detective show starring Lee Je-hoon and Ha Young. The show follows Kwon Baek, a former lawyer turned office manager, as he turns seemingly unwinnable cases around with a ragtag team. Lee plays Kwon Baek, while Ha Young was cast as rookie attorney Yeo Sim-hee.
The controversy over Ha Young's family ties to pro-Japanese collaborators has thrown an unexpected wrench into the production. The series had originally targeted a February 2027 premiere, but its future schedule is now uncertain following the recent scheduling change.
The controversy began in August, when Ha Young's great-grandfather was found to have collaborated with Japanese colonial authorities. The fallout also led to her departure from seasons 2 and 3 of the Netflix series "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call."
