Children's wellness program 'Let's Move' expanded to include families
Second 'Play Day' event held
Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance held its "Play Day with Let's Move" event at the lawn plaza of Seoul Grand Park on Saturday, the company announced Monday.
Now in its second year, the event expanded the insurer's children's wellness corporate social responsibility program, Let's Move, into a family-participation format. More than 1,500 family members took part.
Held under the slogan "Happy and healthy together — parents and children," the event was organized as a family sports day for families with children between the ages of 5 and 10. Participants were divided into an orange team and a navy team and competed across multiple events. Children's challenges included soccer darts, a balloon-burst game and a rugby ball toss, while family challenge events required all members to complete missions together.
The program was designed to let children try again after failing, with cheering placards encouraging re-attempts set up around the venue. Completing each event's mission earned participants a badge, giving children a chance to experience both challenge and achievement.
Families received souvenirs based on the number of badges they collected — sports items for everyday use such as badminton rackets, jump ropes and stacking cups, as well as family picnic supplies. Beyond the activity areas, the venue also featured a picnic zone, an instant-print photo booth and an interview zone where participants could share their impressions.
"We prepared this event with the belief that joyful movement is healthy learning, so that children and parents could enjoy it together," a company official said. "We will continue to carry out a variety of activities to support the healthy growth of children and the happy parenting of their families, as a leading name in children's insurance in Korea."
Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance has been running corporate social responsibility activities to support children's development for more than a decade. Let's Move is one of its flagship children's health programs, sending professionally trained coaches — former athletes — to elementary schools across the country to teach a range of sports classes. Through a team-sports-centered curriculum, the program helps children develop physically while also building social skills such as confidence and consideration for others.
The inaugural event was held at the lawn grounds of Misa Gyeongjeong Park in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province. It featured a team sports experience zone called "Move Zone," an emotion-expression exercise and coloring activity called "Heart Zone," and a finisher's medal event zone.
