18 global IT firms assessed
Agentic AI service a:xink recognized for competitiveness
LG CNS has become the first Korean company named a "Major Player" in global market research firm IDC's digital workplace services assessment.
LG CNS announced Monday that it had received the Major Player designation in the "IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Digital Workplace Services 2026 Vendor Assessment." The evaluation covered 18 global IT firms, and LG CNS was the only Korean company included.
The IDC MarketScape is an analytical model that comprehensively evaluates global IT companies' current business capabilities and future strategies. It factors in not only product and service competitiveness but also customer references and real-world customer experience.
In this assessment, LG CNS received high marks for its digital workplace service capabilities, centered on its agentic AI service a:xink. IDC cited three key strengths: its AI-native platform capabilities, expertise in regulated industries and security-sensitive network-isolated environments, and customer-verified end-to-end project execution capabilities.
a:xink goes beyond simple information retrieval or task support to autonomously carry out actual work. It offers a range of functions including a corporate work portal and groupware, a mobile work portal, a personal AI agent, AI translation and interpretation with meeting support, and AI document drafting.
IDC particularly noted LG CNS's accumulated experience in agentic AI projects in industries requiring high levels of security, such as finance, the public sector and manufacturing. The company's project execution capabilities — spanning consulting through system implementation and operations — as well as its deep understanding of customer industries were also highlighted as major strengths.
LG CNS has in fact deployed a:xink and other digital workplace services at LG Group affiliates' overseas operations in the United States, China, Singapore and Germany, confirming productivity gains of 20 to 40 percent.
The company estimates that combining productivity gains from reduced working hours with license cost savings compared to foreign solutions would generate annual cost reductions worth hundreds of billions of won.
"Being named an IDC Major Player carries great significance in that it represents global recognition of the digital workplace service competitiveness we have built by differentiating ourselves around a:xink," said Kim Hong-geun, executive vice president and head of LG CNS's Digital Business Division. "We will continue to innovate customer work productivity based on agentic AI and further strengthen our position in the market."
Meanwhile, LG CNS launched its enterprise agentic AI platform Agentic Works and the work-innovation service a:xink in August last year, stepping up its expansion in the sector. LG Display, which adopted a:xink in phases at the time, saw average daily work productivity improve by about 10 percent and achieved annual cost savings of more than 10 billion won ($7.42 million) compared with introducing a comparable external service.
