Actor Yoon Yeo-jeong has celebrated her 80th birthday.

Jung Jae-seung, a KAIST professor, shared photos and a post on his Instagram account Saturday, writing that a small birthday party for Yoon had been held at her home among close friends.

The photos showed Yoon and her acquaintances gathered at her home, chatting over paintings and drinks.

Jung added that the evening featured "delicious food, a fantastic guitar performance, a meaningful painting as a gift, and warm conversation full of laughter."

Meanwhile, Yoon had earlier missed out on an Emmy Award at one of American television's most prestigious ceremonies.

According to the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences website, Linda Cardellini, who appeared in the HBO series "DTF Seine-Louise," won best supporting actress in a limited or anthology series or movie at the second night of the 78th Emmy Awards in September.

Yoon, who had been nominated in the same category, did not take home the award.

She had been nominated for her role as a villainous Korean billionaire, Chairman Park, in season 2 of the Netflix series "Beef."

Having become the first Korean actor to win an Oscar for "Minari" in 2021, Yoon would have set a new record had she also claimed the Emmy.
