TK Elevator announced Friday that it has won the Red Dot Design Award 2026 for the fourth consecutive year.

The company earned the recognition in the "Interior Design Elements" category for its Ergo Spine System — a design concept that applies ergonomic support structures and intuitive controls to help all users, including those with mobility challenges, ride elevators more safely and comfortably.

The centerpiece of the design is the "Spine," an element inspired by the human vertebral column that runs continuously from the elevator lobby into the cab, providing stable support through every stage of the journey — waiting, boarding and riding. A call panel integrated with a seat and a lantern-style light fixture help users wait comfortably and board smoothly. Together, these elements weave accessibility features seamlessly into the overall spatial design, creating an inclusive environment for every rider.

"The Ergo Spine System is a design concept that enables all users to move independently, free from physical and psychological stress," the company's Design Innovation Team said. "A key feature is that body-support functions are integrated into the space itself, reducing the impression of a separate assistive device."

"Winning the Red Dot Design Award four years in a row is recognition of our sustained commitment to creating user-centered mobility experiences," said Cho Young-jo, chief executive of TK Elevator. "We will continue to deliver safer and more convenient elevator experiences through innovative designs that reflect the diverse needs of our users."

Meanwhile, TK Elevator took first place in the elevator category at the 2026 Brand of the Year Awards for the third consecutive year. The awards, organized by the Korea Consumer Forum, drew about 770,000 voters this year to select the top brand in each category.

Headquartered in Germany, TK Elevator entered the South Korean market in 2003 and provides a full range of elevator-related services, including manufacturing, new installation, replacement and maintenance. After spinning off from the Thyssenkrupp Group in 2021 and rebranding as TK Elevator, the company has built strong recognition among Korean consumers through a market share of more than 20 percent, customer-focused solutions and design leadership.
