The three-day event runs Friday through Sunday in the city's historic downtown district.

Suncheon's signature food and culture event, the 2026 Suncheon Food and Art Festival, will be held Friday through Sunday along Jungang-ro and the Culture Street in the city's historic downtown district.

Now in its 10th year, the festival is themed "Minari Green," combining the region's signature water parsley with the color green to shape the look and feel of the festival grounds.

The grounds will feature a wide array of food stalls and a dedicated zone for Suncheon's signature dish, grilled fresh chicken. Across the downtown area, local artists will take part in performances, exhibitions and hands-on programs open to visitors of all ages.

The food market will sell distinctive dishes and snacks made with locally sourced ingredients, all priced at 6,000 won or less. Organizers have minimized single-use items and prepared reusable containers in a nod to environmental protection.

Artistic installations placed throughout the festival grounds will let visitors experience art in the open street. A lounge called "Locality Lounge" — connecting the scenery of Jungang Market and the Okcheon riverside with local flavors — will serve tea and desserts as a relaxed, stay-awhile retreat.

Additional highlights include a food talk show by Chef Kim Mi-ryeong, known by her nickname "Imokase"; a tasting showcase for new downtown entrepreneurs called "Matboreo Ollanga"; a dog-friendly party event; and a hands-on program where visitors can see and handle fresh ingredients. Performances by singers Lee Chae-yeon, Lil Boi and John Park are also on the program.

"We hope this will be a meaningful occasion for residents and tourists alike to enjoy Suncheon's flavors and arts, while also breathing new life into the downtown commercial district," a city official said.
