Samsung CDO Mauro Porcini to give 'K-design' talk Sunday
Samsung Electronics said Thursday it is participating in Seoul Design Week 2026, running through Oct. 25 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
The company is presenting an exhibition under the theme "Design is an Act of Love," extending the concept it introduced at Design Miami Seoul 2026 in September to communicate its human-centered design vision.
The exhibition features a collaboration with emerging Italian artists. Fourteen Italian artist teams created works inspired by Samsung Electronics products, displayed across 14 OLED TV screens. The pieces, drawn from diverse cultural backgrounds and personal experiences, explore human diversity and individuality.
The participating artists incorporated their own experiences and imagination into the forms and characteristics of Samsung products. AI served as a tool to help refine each artist's original ideas and expand the range of expression.
The 14 products that served as source material include the Music Frame 5, the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator and the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Each of the 14 Samsung OLED TV SH95 units features a custom frame designed to complement the color palette and mood of the artwork it displays. The SH95 is distinguished by its Float Layer Design, which gives the screen the appearance of a framed picture hanging on a wall.
Samsung Electronics DX Division Chief Design Officer Mauro Porcini will also give a talk during the event. He is scheduled to speak Sunday on the theme of "Italian Design vs. K-Design."
"Through the eyes of diverse creators, familiar products are reborn as new expressions that carry each person's individuality, perspective and way of life," Porcini said. "This exhibition will be an opportunity to show how technology connects closely with people's everyday lives through design."
He added, "The direction we want to move in is designing technology that fully captures what it means to be human."
