Kyongnam Bank launched a financial education campaign targeting elderly residents in Ulsan to help protect their financial assets from telecommunications fraud.

The bank visited the Ulsan Nam-gu Senior Club on Tuesday, sharing new voice phishing cases with about 30 senior citizens and explaining key steps to identify and avoid different types of financial fraud.

Kim Deok-won, a certified financial education instructor and head of Kyongnam Bank's Ulsan Urban Corporation branch, walked participants through specific scam tactics in plain terms — including a scheme in which fraudsters deposit money into a victim's account and then file a false voice phishing report to freeze it, and another in which scammers demand the return of funds they claim were mistakenly transferred from an unknown source.

Kim also screened video examples of real fraud cases, outlined prevention measures and steps to take if victimized, and addressed individual questions through a question-and-answer session.

Kyongnam Bank plans to hold another financial fraud prevention education session for about 80 senior citizens at the Ulsan Nam-gu Senior Club on Friday.
