The Kospi plunged Tuesday, breaking below the 6,000 mark. The index shed more than 4 percent in early trading, triggering a temporary suspension of program sell order asking prices — known as a sell-side sidecar — for the first time in roughly two months since Aug. 20. The electronic board at Woori Bank's dealing room in Jung-gu, Seoul, showed the Kospi hovering around the 5,960 level that morning.
