Nongshim will launch Gambas Chapagetti on Oct. 27, a new product that brings the flavors of gambas al ajillo to its signature Chapagetti noodles.

The product features Chapagetti's characteristically thick, chewy noodles and incorporates shrimp-flavored fish balls, olive-flavored flakes and fried garlic to recreate the taste and texture of gambas. The recipe is based on the first-place entry from the "Chapagetti Cooking Contest," a consumer participation event Nongshim held last year.

Chapagetti has long built a following through so-called "modi-sumer" recipes — combinations with other ingredients that create entirely new flavors. According to Newen AI, an AI analytics firm, Chapagetti generated approximately 134,000 online mentions in 2025, the most of any ramyun brand in South Korea. Consumer-created recipes such as "Jjapaghuri" (Chapagetti + Neoguri) and "Jjagyechi" (Chapagetti + egg + cheese) have consistently drawn attention online.

Nongshim said the new product is part of its effort to expand the consumer-driven Chapagetti cooking culture into an official product line and highlight a new dimension of the brand. "We hope people enjoy the distinctive appeal of a familiar Chapagetti in a new way, made easy — born from a consumer's own idea," a Nongshim official said.
