At the '2027 policy direction and key tasks briefing'

Siheung held a briefing on its 2027 policy direction and key tasks Monday at the Global Center of City Hall.

The city finalized its basic municipal management plan for the ninth elected-term administration on Oct. 1, following an interim review in September. The briefing was organized to translate that plan into concrete policy directions for next year and to share each department's core tasks.

The session was chaired by Siheung Mayor Im Byeong-taek, with directors and heads of directly affiliated departments presenting their 2027 policy directions and key action items. Departing from the conventional report-focused format, the meeting expanded time for open discussion, allowing participants to share their thoughts and plans on the city's overall administration for next year.

Particularly notable was the expanded attendance: beyond division and bureau directors, all department heads and dong office chiefs took part to review policy directions and key tasks together. The gathering gave the entire city government a shared platform to align on next year's policy direction ahead of the full-scale launch of the ninth elected-term administration.

"Through this briefing, let us share the blueprint of our city administration together, and let every department and dong work as one to think about Siheung's future," Mayor Im said.

Building on the policy directions discussed at the briefing, the city plans to draw up annual work plans for each department for 2027 and focus on delivering results that residents can feel.
