The Korea MMA Federation has appointed Hwang Il-young and Kim Myung-jun as new vice presidents as part of an effort to strengthen its organizational structure.

The federation held an emergency general meeting Sunday at Domus Apgujeong in Seoul's Apgujeong neighborhood, addressing key agenda items including a bylaw revision and the appointment of the new vice presidents, it announced Monday.

Chaired by President Jeong Moon-hong, the meeting drew 10 of the federation's 15 registered board members. A comprehensive bylaw revision aimed at improving operational efficiency passed without objection, the federation said.

Hwang and Kim were appointed to bolster the federation's organizational capacity and expand its reach. The two vice presidents are expected to help build cooperative frameworks with regional associations and broaden the grassroots base of mixed martial arts in Korea.

The federation also extended through Dec. 31 a special membership policy that lowers the new member registration fee from 4 million won ($2,990) to 700,000 won, with an annual fee of 300,000 won, bringing the total joining cost to 1 million won.

The meeting also reviewed results from the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Lee Bo-mi claimed a bronze medal in the women's modern 54-kilogram category, while Choi Eun-seok in the men's modern 71 kg and Yoon Tae-young in the men's traditional 77 kg each advanced to the quarterfinals.
