International express delivery company DHL Korea has launched a second limited-edition collection with domestic bag brand Seimo Ondo. Building on last year's truck-themed design concept, the new collection shifts the setting to an aircraft and introduces sherpa fabric — a first for Seimo Ondo.

DHL Korea announced Monday that sales of the second collaborative collection with Seimo Ondo began Sunday.

The two companies first teamed up in August last year in what was DHL's first collaboration with a domestic fashion brand. That collection featured Seimo Ondo's mascot character "Tokkiyom" riding a DHL delivery truck, with the company's signature yellow woven into the bag designs.

The debut collection sold out relatively quickly, and continued inquiries from customers prompted the two companies to plan a follow-up roughly a year later.

Delivery remains the shared theme, but the setting has moved from land to air. Where Tokkiyom once rode a DHL truck, the character now boards a DHL aircraft to make its deliveries.

The materials have changed as well. Seimo Ondo used sherpa fabric for the first time in the brand's history for this collection. The soft, thick material — similar in texture to wool fleece — was chosen to evoke an autumn and winter feel.

The brand's signature "Lebelt" series has also been redesigned for the collaboration, retaining elements from last year's first collection while varying the bag styles and materials.

The products are available in limited quantities. In South Korea, they can be purchased at the Seimo Ondo flagship store in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The store will also be decorated with DHL-themed designs for one month to mark the collaboration.

International customers can order through Seimo Ondo's global online shop. Orders from abroad will be shipped via DHL's international express network, with the company targeting delivery within two to three days depending on the destination country and region.

The relationship between the two companies predates the brand collaboration. Seimo Ondo has long been a DHL logistics customer, using the carrier to ship products sold through its global online shop to overseas buyers.

A logistics partnership built on handling customs procedures and taxes across different countries expanded into a product design collaboration last year and has now extended to a second collection.

"We are delighted to present a second collection with Seimo Ondo just one year on, thanks to the strong support our customers showed for the first collaboration," said Han Ji-heon, CEO of DHL Korea. "Just as this collection's story moves from truck to aircraft, DHL will continue to serve as a reliable logistics partner, helping domestic brands like Seimo Ondo reach customers around the world quickly and dependably."

Sa Hyeon-jin and Kang Su-yeon, co-CEOs of Seimo Ondo, said the second collection was a response to customers' lingering demand after the first. "We trust that DHL can handle overseas orders reliably," they said.

Meanwhile, DHL is also expanding its business-to-business logistics operations across the Asia-Pacific region, separate from its fashion brand collaborations. DHL Express said the average daily shipment weight handled by its heavy freight service "Heavy Weight Express" in the Asia-Pacific region excluding China rose 16 percent in the January–July period this year. Semiconductors and other advanced technology, along with manufacturing and automotive cargo, accounted for roughly two-thirds of total heavy freight volume.
