Weekend performances at Children's Grand Park run through early November; Cheonggyecheon hosts history walks and traditional storytelling shows
The Seoul Facilities Corporation announced Sunday that it has prepared a range of autumn events for residents, including classical music performances at Seoul Children's Grand Park, a history walk program along Cheonggyecheon and a cosmos flower path.
At Seoul Children's Grand Park, weekend music performances centered on classical music will continue through Nov. 7. A jazz band takes the stage Saturday, followed by the Seoul Pops Orchestra on Oct. 17, an orchestra and world music concert on Oct. 24, and a participatory inclusive arts festival on Oct. 31. On Nov. 7, the Youth Orchestra and Einsbaumwind Chamber will each perform at the open-air stage at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Earlier this month, on Oct. 16–17, the Forest Stage will host "2026 Gongnyeon Bomnal," a free youth performing arts festival in which teenagers present cultural performances including samulnori.
Along the upper Cheonggyecheon stretch between Mojeon Bridge and Gwangtonggyo Bridge, a "History Walk with Cheonggyecheon" program will run through Oct. 31. The walking path will feature "History Lens" installations that overlay historical images onto present-day scenery, alongside displays spelling out the stream's history in text. A storytelling performance reimagining the "jeongi-su" — a traditional Joseon-era street narrator — will be held three times daily at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Gwangtonggyo Bridge on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24.
Along a roughly 450-meter stretch of the middle Cheonggyecheon between Muhak Bridge and Gosanja Bridge, 10,000 cosmos plants have been arranged into an autumn flower path, where visitors can stroll and enjoy the season through the end of October.
Han Guk-yeong, chairman of the corporation, said the events were prepared "so that citizens can fully enjoy the deepening autumn amid the classical melodies of Seoul Children's Grand Park and the historical stories flowing through Cheonggyecheon."
