Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-oh hosted a public information session Wednesday afternoon on the Junggye Cultural Park development project at the grand auditorium of the Nowon District Citizens' Hall, creating a forum for direct communication with local residents.
The session was organized to share the project's design plans, gather public input and refine the park to a higher standard. District Mayor Seo was joined by city and district lawmakers as well as local residents.
The project runs from July 2026 to June 2028 and covers a 22,727.4-square-meter site in the Junggye 2 and 3-dong area. The redevelopment will add a plaza, water features, exercise equipment and cultural spaces to the park.
The session opened with introductions before moving into a presentation of the detailed design by the project's design firm, followed by a public comment segment. Residents examined the plans closely and offered a range of suggestions on facilities and improvements they felt the neighborhood needed.
District Mayor Seo called for careful review to minimize inconvenience to residents during construction. "Junggye Cultural Park is a space for everyone to enjoy comfortably, so from the design stage onward we will actively incorporate diverse opinions and proposals to create a dignified park that satisfies as many people as possible," he said.
