Hankook Tire & Technology announced Wednesday that it ranked first in the passenger tire category of the manufacturing sector in the third-quarter 2026 National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) survey, administered by the Korea Productivity Center (KPC). The passenger tire category was newly established this year.

The NCSI is a customer satisfaction measurement index jointly developed in 1998 by the KPC and the University of Michigan. It quantifies overall satisfaction by comprehensively evaluating customers' expectations and experiences with a company's products and services, and is recognized for its high reliability based on assessments by actual customers.

In the passenger tire category, introduced for the first time this year, Hankook Tire claimed the top spot after being evaluated across seven criteria, including customer satisfaction, customer expectation level and perceived quality.

The company currently supplies original equipment (OE) tires to approximately 40 global automakers across more than 300 vehicle models. This year alone, it has demonstrated its competitiveness by supplying OE tires to key models from premium automakers, including the Porsche 911 Carrera, the BMW i7 and the Ford Mustang Mach-E.

In the electric vehicle tire market, Hankook Tire has been expanding its presence through iON, the world's first full-lineup EV-dedicated tire brand. The company currently supplies OE tires for the Porsche Taycan, Lucid Gravity, BMW i4, iX and iX3, Hyundai Motor Company's Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9, Kia's EV2, EV3, EV4 and EV9, and the Polestar 4.

In addition, the company supplies racing tires to and sponsors participating teams at global motorsport events, including the FIA World Rally Championship and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, verifying tire performance across a wide range of driving conditions. Driving data accumulated at these competitions is used to develop tire technology for internal combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles and next-generation mobility.

A company official attributed the achievement to Hankook Tire's innovation infrastructure — its headquarters Technoplex, its high-tech research facility Hankook Techno Dome, and Hankook Techno Ring, Asia's largest tire test track. "Under an integrated quality management system, we produce consistently high-quality products across eight global manufacturing facilities, building customer trust," the official said.

"Going forward, we will continue to raise customer satisfaction through the development of innovative technologies for future mobility and ongoing quality improvements, while offering diverse premium brand experiences to further strengthen our position as a global top-tier tire company," the official added.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire has been expanding customer touchpoints through a range of marketing activities, including the 2026 Ventus Experience Day, a recent event held at the BMW Driving Center on Yeongjongdo in Incheon where participants experienced the technology behind the company's flagship ultra-high-performance tire brand, Ventus.
