Imunwon Bio, a company specializing in hair loss treatment and research, announced Wednesday that it has received the "Outstanding Employee Invention Compensation Company" certification administered by the Korea Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association. The certification is valid for four years.

The Outstanding Employee Invention Compensation Company certification evaluates whether a company has established and is actively operating an appropriate compensation system for technologies and inventions developed by employees in the course of their work. It is administered under the Invention Promotion Act and targets small and mid-sized enterprises.

The assessment goes beyond simply having internal compensation rules in place — it also examines whether compensation payments have actually been made and whether related procedures are being followed. Certified companies receive benefits including priority examination for patents, utility models and designs, reduced registration fees, and expanded guarantee limits from Seoul Guarantee Insurance.

Imunwon Bio is also moving quickly to secure patents for technologies developed through its research and development activities. The company has completed registration of 12 domestic patents and has filed applications for an additional 17.

Among its key technologies is a hair follicle stem cell activation technology applied in "Super Hair Shot 360," a hair loss treatment procedure. The company is also pursuing international filing under the Patent Cooperation Treaty for the core technology, a move aimed at broadening intellectual property protection ahead of planned expansion into overseas markets including the United States and Europe.

The company continues related research through its in-house research institute. Last year it was selected for TIPS — the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' privately led technology startup support program — and is working with domestic and international research institutions to verify the mechanism of action behind its technology. The company also holds ISO 9001 quality management system certification.

"A patent is just the output — the real competitive strength of a company lies in the internal compensation system and research culture that allow patents to keep emerging," said Lee Moon-won, the company's chief director. "Building on this certification, we will push ahead more aggressively with the international filing of our hair follicle stem cell activation patents and the global rollout of Super Hair Shot."
