The Golfzon Cultural Foundation announced Wednesday that it has donated meal kits worth 10 million won ($7,440) to 250 vulnerable households in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, as part of its "Golfzon Neighbor Love Happy Sharing" project.

The foundation held a donation ceremony at Suncheon City Hall on Tuesday, presenting meal kits consisting of instant rice and banchan, or side dishes. The event was attended by Park Young-jun, a team leader at the Golfzon Cultural Foundation, Lim Ji-hun, general manager of Golfzon County Suncheon, and Suncheon Mayor Son Hun-mo. The donated goods will be distributed to households in need through the city hall's social welfare division.

The "Golfzon Neighbor Love Happy Sharing" project is a corporate social responsibility initiative the foundation has run since 2021. Funded by Golfzon's contributions and donations from Golfzon Group employees, it provides daily necessities to vulnerable communities across the country.

The foundation plans to support approximately 4,300 households nationwide with 180 million won worth of daily necessities this year, with the next donation event scheduled for Dong-gu, Daejeon, on Oct. 19.

"We will continue to share on an ongoing basis so that we can be a real source of strength for neighbors in need, not just a one-time gesture," said Kim Young-chan, chairman of the Golfzon Cultural Foundation.
