8 billion won committed to Ho Chi Minh production unit
Epoxy-type line to complement existing film-type setup
Mass production set for second half of 2027
LS Eco Energy is expanding its power infrastructure business with a new investment in large-capacity bus ducts — channels that deliver electricity to server racks — for AI data centers.
The company said Wednesday that its Vietnam production subsidiary LSCV will invest about 8 billion won ($5.89 million) to build a new epoxy-insulated bus duct production line at its Ho Chi Minh City facility.
The epoxy type is a high-value product suited for large-capacity power supply applications requiring strong insulation and durability. Mass production is set to begin in the second half of 2027, and adding the epoxy line alongside the existing film-type setup will double LSCV's total bus duct production capacity.
By broadening its product lineup, LSCV aims to meet the diverse needs of AI data center customers and sharpen its order competitiveness, with a focus on the Asian market.
LSCV first built its bus duct production facilities in 2018 and has since expanded its business around plants and high-rise buildings. More recently, it has extended its customer base to include hyperscale data centers run by major tech companies in Indonesia and Malaysia, with bus duct sales in the first half of this year more than tripling from a year earlier.
"Through this investment, we will strengthen our product competitiveness and production capacity, and accelerate our push into the Asian AI power infrastructure market," said Lee Sang-ho, chief executive of LS Eco Energy.
Meanwhile, LS Cable & System is using Gaon Cable's US subsidiary LSCUS as its North American business hub and is building a production subsidiary in Mexico as well. It is also expanding bus duct production capacity at its factory in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, and at LSCV, reinforcing its bus duct business for AI data centers across the Americas and Asia.
