A man in his 20s has been arrested for assaulting his mother at a crosswalk after she refused to do as he asked.
The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul booked the man, identified only as A, on charges of assaulting a blood relative and is investigating the case.
A straddled his mother, a 57-year-old woman identified as B, and beat her at a crosswalk near Nakseongdae Station in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, at around 10:20 a.m. Sunday. Police arrested him at the scene.
A told investigators he assaulted his mother because she would not listen to him, according to police.
Police released A after placing him under an emergency protective order and are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
