A lottery player has won 2 billion won ($1.47 million) after a string of vivid dreams prompted her to buy a scratch ticket — and then exchange it for another.

According to Donhaeng Bokgwon, the first-prize winner of the 69th showing of Speetto 2000, identified only as A, recently shared in a winner interview how she came to buy the ticket and what happened when she found out she had won.

A said she dreamed one night of a toilet overflowing with feces. The following night, she dreamed of a large crowd gathered near her home. Struck by the back-to-back vivid dreams and sensing that something good was about to happen, she visited a lottery retailer the next day and bought a ticket.

Her first winning amount was 20,000 won. A few days later, she returned to the retailer with the winning ticket and, instead of collecting the cash, exchanged it for 20,000 won worth of Speetto 2000 scratch tickets.

Back home, she began checking the new tickets alone — and was met with an unexpected result. Among the several tickets she scratched, one turned out to be a first-prize winner.

"At first, I couldn't believe it was really a first prize, so I put the ticket away for a moment and calmed myself down by doing housework as usual," she said.

That evening, she called her children and asked them to come verify the win. They rushed over, and it was only after checking the ticket together that the reality of winning finally sank in.

"Even as I shared the joy with my children, I still couldn't fully grasp that such great luck had come my way," she said. "Even now, I feel dazed and amazed."

A said she does not buy lottery tickets often — just a Lotto or Speetto ticket once or twice a year. She plans to use the 2 billion won prize to buy a home.
