AI clips rack up 53.2 million plays with about 4,600 clips generated during the Games
The men's football final at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games gave Naver a major boost, with the national portal recording its highest concurrent viewership of the Games — 1.23 million — while its AI-generated clip feature also proved a hit.
Naver said Sunday that its streaming platform Chzzk drew 1.23 million simultaneous viewers for the men's football final, the highest figure recorded on the platform during the Asian Games.
Throughout the Games, from Sept. 19 through Sunday, Chzzk live-streamed broadcaster-produced coverage of sporting events as well as major esports competitions.
Naver also said plays of AI-generated short-form clips — automatically extracted from live footage through its "AI Clip (Spoter)" feature — surpassed 53.2 million during the period.
"About 4,600 AI clips were published during this period, and they were distributed simultaneously not only on Chzzk but also on the Naver app's home feed, clip tab, integrated search, AI briefing and sports pages," the company said.
Naver added that the system analyzed more than 70 sub-events across more than 40 sports using a single model, covering every event in which South Korean athletes competed.
