Korea Land and Housing Corporation participated in Herald Money Festa 2026, held Friday and Saturday at Dongdaemun Design Plaza's Art Hall 1 in Jung-gu, Seoul, showcasing key urban redevelopment models driving the government's housing supply policy.

LH used its exhibition booth to highlight the progress and future plans of two flagship programs at the heart of urban housing supply: public redevelopment and the urban public housing complex project, known as the urban complex project.

Public redevelopment involves public institutions such as LH stepping into improvement zones that have long stalled due to poor project viability or community disputes, offering incentives such as relaxed floor-area ratios and streamlined procedures to accelerate development. The urban complex project is a publicly led model that dramatically expands housing supply in the city center by densely developing underused sites — transit-oriented areas, semi-industrial zones and low-rise residential neighborhoods — where private development has proven difficult.

The standout attraction at the LH booth was an interactive "Greater Seoul Redevelopment Digital Map." The map presents zone-by-zone status, progress stages and project plans for public redevelopment and urban complex projects underway across the Greater Seoul area through a map-based, interactive touch-screen display.

Visitors tapped the digital screen to check in real time the designation status of candidate sites and zones they were interested in, along with projected housing unit counts and development timelines, drawing considerable attention. Questions came from a wide range of attendees — from people without homes of their own weighing their options to residents looking to assess the viability of redevelopment projects in their neighborhoods.

A visitor in his 50s who toured the LH booth said the map made a complex topic much easier to grasp. "I had only a vague sense of how redevelopment in areas I was interested in was progressing as an urban complex project, but seeing the zone status laid out visually on the digital map made it far easier to understand," he said. "It was very informative to hear in detail about publicly led redevelopment projects."

An LH official said the successful establishment of public redevelopment and urban complex projects is paramount to ensuring a stable housing supply in the city center. "We will continue to use digital technology to transparently share redevelopment project information with the public and strengthen communication with residents, doing our utmost to expand housing supply in urban areas," the official said.

Meanwhile, Herald Money Festa, now in its third edition, ran for two days Friday and Saturday under the theme "Money Rebalancing: Recalibrating the Weight of Your Assets." The event featured a series of talks covering the full spectrum of personal finance — from shares, ETFs, real estate, gold and virtual assets to wealth management, tax planning and inheritance — giving attendees a chance to reassess their financial flows and portfolios amid a rapidly shifting investment landscape.
