T.O.P (real name Choi Seung-hyun, 38), a former member of Big Bang, and actor Nana (real name Im Jin-ah, 35), a former member of After School, have been dating since June after meeting on a music video shoot, their respective agencies acknowledged Friday.
T.O.P's agency said the two "developed a romantic relationship around June," while Nana's agency confirmed the same day that they are "enjoying a good thing together."
Both agencies released their statements shortly after entertainment outlet Dispatch reported the relationship Friday morning. Dispatch said the two first met in January on a music video shoot and began dating in June.
The pair first worked together in January on the music video for "Wanjeon Michyeosseo!" ("Completely Crazy!"), one of two title tracks from T.O.P's debut solo studio album "Daejung Gwanjeom" (Multiple Perspectives). T.O.P personally approached Nana about taking the lead role in the video.
In April, Nana appeared on T.O.P's YouTube channel and asked why he had cast her. T.O.P said he had wanted a mysterious woman of indeterminate era from the moment he began writing the song, adding that she "fit the role best." At the time, the two were still speaking formally to each other, reflecting an air of unfamiliarity.
T.O.P resumed his public profile with Netflix's "Squid Game 2" and returned to music in April with a full-length album featuring 11 tracks he produced himself. He is currently on his first-ever solo tour across six regions in Asia, 20 years after his debut. Nana has appeared in the drama series "The Good Wife," as well as Netflix's "Mask Girl" and "Scandal," and released a solo album last year.
