Comedian Shim Jin-hwa has said she generated 800 million won ($590,000) in sales in a single hour on a home shopping channel.

Shim appeared as a guest on KBS Cool FM's "Park Myung-soo's Radio Show," which aired Thursday, alongside singer Baek-ga.

During the broadcast, host Park Myung-soo told Shim she had reportedly set an all-time sales record on home shopping.

Shim confirmed the claim, saying sales figures come in the moment a broadcast ends. "I was in a really good mood because the numbers were so big recently," she said, adding, "though that money doesn't become mine."

When Baek-ga and Park pressed her for the exact figure, Shim said, "It was a health supplement, not cosmetics — I think we hit 800 million won in one hour."

Baek-ga expressed admiration, saying she had done a great job. Park praised her, saying the result was thanks to her strong performance alongside the show host, then asked whether some of that money would come her way.

"No. Not even 10 won comes to me. I only receive an appearance fee," Shim said.

When Baek-ga suggested she negotiate a running guarantee, Shim explained why she avoids the arrangement. "The reason I don't do running guarantees on home shopping is that it makes me less than honest — I get caught up in the excitement and start getting greedy," she said. Park praised her attitude, saying, "That's the right approach."

Shim married fellow comedian Kim Won-hyo in 2011 and has since remained active across broadcasting, her personal social media accounts and home shopping appearances.
