CJ Logistics announced Thursday it is opening applications for its "logistics public recruitment" drive to hire entry-level staff for logistics hubs across the country. The program selects locally rooted youth with logistics-related skills and provides structured education and hands-on field experience to develop them into regional logistics specialists.

The initiative is designed to help young people who grew up in their hometowns secure stable jobs and build expertise without having to leave, while also strengthening the operational competitiveness of logistics hubs nationwide to contribute to local economic vitalization and balanced regional development.

CJ Logistics has consistently recruited local talent for its nationwide logistics operations since 2018. This year, the company rebranded the effort as its formal logistics recruitment program and shifted to a biannual hiring cycle held in the first and second halves of each year. The revamped system links recruitment, education, field placement and career support into a single pipeline, moving beyond simple local hiring toward a long-term framework for developing logistics professionals.

The program gives priority to locally connected youth who have graduated from specialized high schools, two-year colleges or four-year universities. After joining, new hires will receive education and practical experience in logistics operations and field management to help them grow into core personnel at their respective regional hubs.

CJ Logistics plans to build a virtuous cycle through the program — one that connects youth employment and settlement, the accumulation of specialized talent in each region, and stronger competitiveness at logistics hubs. Young people gain careers in their hometowns where they can develop expertise, while the company secures a steady pipeline of talent with deep local and operational knowledge to raise the professional standards of each hub.

"We expect that talent recruited locally will grow into field experts, and that their accumulated capabilities will feed back into strengthening regional logistics infrastructure and industrial competitiveness — contributing to local economic vitalization and balanced development," a CJ Logistics official said.

The company is also working to improve accessibility for regional applicants during the hiring process. CJ Logistics will hold a recruitment information session via YouTube live streaming on Friday, allowing prospective applicants from anywhere in the country to participate through the official "CJ Logistics Recruitment" YouTube channel.

The session will be themed around "autumn baseball," with current employees from each business division — including FT, Oné and The Unbahn — appearing as coaches to introduce their respective units' operations, roles and ideal candidate profiles as they search for new "players." The company plans to use the live format's interactive features, including real-time Q&A, to broaden its reach to applicants across the country.

CJ Logistics intends to expand regional logistics talent development as a core recruitment track going forward. The company will hold the program twice a year on a regular basis and plans to develop new hires into field managers with deep expertise in logistics infrastructure and operations through structured education and on-site experience.

"The logistics recruitment program is a mutually beneficial hiring model — it gives regional youth the opportunity to build expertise and grow in their hometowns, while giving the company a stable supply of specialized talent to lead logistics hubs nationwide," said Kim Jeong-tae, head of human resources at CJ Logistics. "We will build a virtuous cycle in which talent from our communities grows into the core workforce of the regional logistics industry and, in turn, raises the competitiveness of those regional industries."

Meanwhile, CJ Logistics has been stepping up its marketing activities this month, including launching a mobile engine oil replacement service in partnership with S-Oil Total Energies Lubricants to expand its automotive care service offerings for customers.
