Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, will host a series of signature autumn festivals this fall.

According to Yeongcheon City, the 2026 Yeongcheon Joint Festival will run Friday through Sunday at Yeongcheon Riverside Park.

Four festivals will take place simultaneously — a culture and arts festival, a traditional herbal medicine festival, a wine festa and a Starlight Hanwoo Grill Festival — offering visitors a wide range of entertainment and hands-on experiences.

The 52nd Yeongcheon Culture and Arts Festival will feature exhibitions of scholar's rocks, bonsai and calligraphy works, along with a national nongak and nanta competition, a pumbba festival and traditional folk games by neighborhood.

On Sunday afternoon, the final round of the 30th National Wang Pyeong Song Contest will take place, followed by performances by Jeon Yu-jin, Park Sang-cheol, Park Nam-jeong and Kim Ye-jin.

The 24th Yeongcheon Herbal Medicine Festival will offer health and wellness programs including free traditional medicine consultations by Daegu Haany University, AI brainwave measurements, sleep and phytoncide wellness experiences, and herbal foot-bath making.

At the 14th Wine Festa, visitors who purchase a wine glass for 3,000 won can sample wines from 11 local wineries, with additional programs such as wine classes and a make-your-own-wine session also on offer.

The Starlight Hanwoo Grill Festival will feature an outdoor barbecue dining area with 384 seats, with Yeongcheon Starlight Hanwoo beef sold at 10 to 30 percent discounts.

The 23rd Yeongcheon Bohyeonsan Starlight Festival will then run from Oct. 9 through Oct. 11 at the Bohyeonsan Astronomical Science Center.

Themed "Uranus — A Tilted Planet, a New Perspective," the festival will feature a bubble magic show, a starlight concert by Tei, a drone light show and a science musical.

A media art thematic pavilion, a star-gazing star party, astronomy lectures and more than 40 science experience booths will also be on offer. During the festival period, the Bohyeonsan Observatory will open for special public access, and the Bohyeonsan Dam suspension bridge will open for nighttime visits.

Yeongcheon City plans to operate a central situation room and deploy security, traffic and parking personnel to ensure visitor convenience and safety.

"We will create a safe and substantive festival where citizens and visitors can enjoy the charm of Yeongcheon together," Yeongcheon Mayor Kim Byeong-sam said. "We also hope it will help invigorate local businesses and the regional economy."
