Yeongwol-gun has launched an online advance ticketing system for Cheongnyeongpo, set to take effect Thursday, to improve convenience for visitors to the historic site.

Visitors can make advance reservations by searching "Cheongnyeongpo" on Naver or through the Yeongwol-gun culture and tourism website.

Those who book in advance can scan their barcode at a staffed ticket booth or a self-service kiosk on-site to exchange it for an entry ticket. Walk-in visitors without advance reservations may still purchase tickets at the site as before.

Yeongwol-gun plans to open reservations for the following month in the middle of each month, allowing visitors to plan their trips ahead of time. Reservations for November visits will open in mid-October.

The county expects the new system to ease congestion at on-site ticket booths during peak seasons and reduce waiting times for tourists.

"We introduced the advance ticketing system to improve convenience for visitors to Cheongnyeongpo," Yeongwol-gun County Mayor Kim Gil-su said. "By running both online advance booking and on-site ticketing together, we will make it easier for tourists to enjoy Cheongnyeongpo."
