The Seoul Metropolitan Sports Council announced Wednesday that it held a human rights abuse prevention training session for secretaries-general of member sports associations and district sports councils at its main conference room on Sept. 21.
The session was designed to prevent human rights violations in sports settings and promote a culture of mutual respect within organizations. The council drew on findings from its annual survey on human rights abuse among Seoul athletes, centering the training on real cases from the field.
"Human rights are not something distant — a healthy human rights culture takes shape when small acts of respect for one another accumulate," said Kim Seong-beom, secretary-general of the Seoul Metropolitan Sports Council. "We will take the lead in establishing a fair sports culture where human rights are respected."
