Winter of girl group Aespa has been diagnosed with shingles and will not perform at the group's upcoming Dallas concert.

SM Entertainment said on Weverse that Winter had shown signs of poor health before the Miami show but took the stage out of a strong desire to perform alongside her fellow members. "However, her condition did not improve sufficiently afterward, so she visited a hospital following the Miami concert for a thorough examination, which resulted in a shingles diagnosis," the agency said.

SM Entertainment added that even after the diagnosis, Winter had shown a strong will to participate in the scheduled performances and had done her best to recover until just before the show, with her condition being monitored continuously. "However, following careful discussion between the agency and the artist, and in accordance with medical staff recommendations that the artist's health and full recovery must come first, it was decided that she will sit out the Dallas concert and rest," the agency said.

"Winter has been looking forward to meeting the Dallas audience, and she is deeply disappointed not to be able to join this performance," the agency said. "We sincerely apologize to fans for delivering this sudden news."

The main concert as well as on-site events including Hi-Bye and Send-Off will proceed as a three-member unit with Karina, Giselle and Ningning.

Meanwhile, Winter debuted with the four-member group Aespa in November 2020 and is widely regarded as an all-rounder of the fourth-generation girl group scene, praised for her stable vocals, dancing and ability to embody the group's concept.
