Lotte Wellfood announced Wednesday that seven of its domestic factories have obtained Global HACCP certification, a system introduced last year by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in line with changes in food manufacturing environments and standards at home and abroad.

The seven certified production facilities — located in Yeongdeungpo, Yangsan, Pyeongtaek, Daejeon, Cheonan, Gimcheon and Hoengseong — are the company's main factories producing products for export.

Lotte Wellfood has set food safety as one of its core management values and is carrying out a range of initiatives to embed a food safety culture across the organization. The company conducts companywide education and technical support through collaboration with the Food Safety Center at Lotte Central Research Institute.

"Building on this Global HACCP certification, we will further advance our prevention-focused management system to supply products that consumers around the world can choose with confidence," a Lotte Wellfood official said.
