Military drama "Sinbyeong 4: Sabotage" has concluded its run with viewership in the 5 percent range, setting a new series high.

According to Yonhap, Nielsen Korea said Wednesday that the finale — the 12th episode of the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama "Sinbyeong 4: Sabotage," which aired Tuesday — drew a 5.2 percent viewership rating nationwide, a record for the series.

The final episode followed soldiers facing the disbandment of the Shinhwa unit as part of a military consolidation.

Inspector Maj. Kim Hana (played by Gong Min-jeong) arrives at the otherwise peaceful Shinhwa unit and delivers a decision to merge it with another after conducting an inventory audit.

The unit's members look back on memories shared in the barracks, the guardhouse and other familiar spots, struggling to hide their reluctance to part ways.

Three new recruits arrive at the beleaguered unit, and Corporal Park Min-seok (Kim Min-ho), welcoming the newcomers, tells them, "Let's do our best from here on" — a line widely read as hinting at a possible fifth season.

The show is the fourth season of "Sinbyeong," a franchise that has run for four years since 2022. This season opened with a 2.8 percent rating before climbing to the 5 percent range, making it the highest-rated installment in the series.
