Mobile consultation office to open at city hall for driver's license inquiries
Guri signed a memorandum of understanding with the Road Traffic Authority's Uijeongbu Driver's License Examination Office on Tuesday at Guri City Hall, aimed at improving traffic administration services for residents and promoting a culture of road safety.
The agreement was drawn up to address the inconvenience residents have long faced in having to travel to Uijeongbu for driver's license renewals, fitness tests and license-related consultations, and to bring more accessible, tailored administrative services closer to home.
Under the MOU, the two organizations agreed to cooperate actively in three areas: operating a mobile driver's license consultation office inside Guri City Hall, running a promotional and consultation space for the Uijeongbu Driver's License Examination Office at major festivals and events in Guri, and providing consultations on driver's licenses and road safety.
The mobile consultation office, to be set up in the general civil affairs office at Guri City Hall, will offer a range of license-related services, including guidance on obtaining a mobile driver's license and consultations for elderly drivers considering surrendering their licenses. The arrangement is expected to reduce the time and financial burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances for license-related matters.
The two sides also plan to operate a promotional and consultation space for the Uijeongbu Driver's License Examination Office at major Guri festivals and events, where staff will provide on-site license consultations and conduct road safety awareness activities for residents.
Guri Mayor Shin Dong-hwa said the MOU "will serve as a meaningful opportunity to ease the everyday inconveniences residents face and deliver administrative convenience they can truly feel." He added that the city would "continue to work closely with relevant agencies to actively pursue citizen-centered administration."
