The North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education held a leadership training session for kindergarten and elementary school principals Tuesday at The K Hotel Gyeongju, with about 480 principals from across the province in attendance.

The session opened with a special lecture by Seo Yong-seok, a KAIST professor, on the theme of "The AI Era: The Future of Work and Occupations, and Survival Strategies."

Then a gender-sensitivity training segment moved away from the conventional lecture format, adopting a storytelling approach that wove together music and everyday narratives.

Particularly notable was a dialogue session titled "Communication and Empathy with the Superintendent," in which Superintendent Im Jong-sik engaged directly with attendees on questions and education policy issues submitted in advance from schools across the province.

The exchange centered on the five core areas of the "North Gyeongsang Education 2030 Grand Transformation" initiative — AI transition, personalized growth, safe schools, regional coexistence and empathetic administration — with discussion covering policy direction, the role of schools and pressing education issues.

Im answered questions raised by school officials directly, explaining the direction of key policies, while attendees shared their views on the challenges facing schools and the role of school administrators.

"The completion of the North Gyeongsang Education 2030 Grand Transformation lies in building schools where children learn with joy and teachers can focus fully on teaching," Im said. "The education office will be a steadfast supporter so that schools can provide students with a better educational experience."
